This strange looking egghead has been glazed and is ready for a final firing in the kiln. Originally I was going to make a matryoshka doll. As you may see in this picture, that didn't quite happen exactly as planned. Instead I cut out little flowers and attached all over. Depending on how it looks once it has been fired I may glue rhinestones into the flower centers. This will be the third clay item that I've made. It's a slow process of playing with the clay over many, many weeks. Then you let it air dry and do a first firing. (I'm not sure what that's called.) Then mixing up the glaze to paint the figurine. Of course you can only trust the sample tile for the true color because what drips off the paint brush isn't your final result. Interesting process. I'm having fun even if I'm making odd things.

After the first firing the piece is called bisk ware. This is a beautiful egg. Did you have a mold for it or did you hand build it? Nice sculpting.
