A month ago I took a doll class taught by Arley Berryhill. Last evening I put the finishing touches on her and she's ready to be hung on a wall. I just can't decide which part of the the house she should reside.
Here's how she first looked when I brought her home from the class. Her hair, arms and lace were just pinned in place.
After a couple days with some beads, sequins and glitter glue she's now ready to grace the walls of our home. (She's consented to living out of water. As she's explained to me, just because she's a mermaid doesn't mean that she has to be pigeon-holed to a watery existence. I guess she's a bit of a rebel, who knew?)
I can't decide whether she should be against one of our many cream walls, or the warm yellow walls of the family room where she'll contrast nicely. Hmm. We'll have to think about that a bit.

Your mermaid is beautiful and I love the beading on her. Her hands/fingers look very graceful.

Great colors and love the beading! You have captured the essences of mermaids. She looks like she would fit perfectly under the seas (or in your case gracing your walls)

She'll be beautiful wherever she is. And I think she knows it! :-)

Not to worry, gal. She'll be the first to let you know just exactly where she wants to be.
They do exert their will upon us, now, don't they. Always a mind of their own and let us know at a whim.
Her hands are exquisite ! ! ! ! ! !

I agree the hands are so delicate! What material did you use and how tall is she?

Ok, this is the BEST cloth doll mermaid I have ever seen; the most convincing tail, the sweetest expression. And yes, the tender gesture of her lovely hands is breathtaking. Glorious!
