Nancy don't read this post any further if you want to be surprised.
I finally finished the Back-Tack 3 softies and extras today. Just one day late for mailing, but it'll get to Nancy in a couple of days.
Whew!!! Lots of work. For a while there I wasn't sure if I'd get it all done today. But I did it.
I used my DH's tripod to take pictures. Unfortunately by the time I photographed everything I had lost my good morning sun. I used fabric as a back-drop instead of putting things on the floor in the entryway. (I usually do that since the skylight lets in just the right amount of light early in the morning.) Then I tweaked the contrast a bit in photoshop. Basically it turned out okay, but I definitely need more photography practice. :-)
Here's the packages all ready to go:
I made a quick tag on the computer using photoshop. I'm not sure if I really am pleased with it or not. I think that I'd rather have a botanical illustration of a lemon as opposed to the colored picture. Graphics always go through stages before they are complete.
And finally, introducing our newlyweds, Mr. & Mrs. Back-Tack. When Mr. Back-Tack (or Mr. BT for short) met the lovely Miss Kitty he knew that this was a match made in heaven ... after all, why else would they have the saying "it's raining cats and dogs"? Here they are just after their nuptials at the Lemon Tree Gardens in Sunnyvale. It was a beautiful day and they are extremely happy to be making their way to Nancy in San Francisco.
I also wanted to make a few extras and since Nancy is a bride-to-be herself, the Domestic Goddess theme seemed perfectly tongue-in-cheek.
This was sooooooo much fun to do. Not bad for my first swap experience and the theme was great. Although technically I didn't use 20% of a contrast color and Mr. BT only has 4 buttons and a "corsage" from a piece of jewelry finding. But I'm hoping that since Mrs. BT has 6 buttons she'll share with her new hubby.
EDIT: (I forgot to mention that I used Indygo Junction's pattern "Polar Pooch & Kitty" for the softies.)
