After playing with the pieces for a little bit, this is what I've started to sew. One fabric, a gorgeous Kaffe Fassett dahlia print, just didn't make it. So sad, but it didn't work no matter where I placed it. I wasn't sure whether I'd want to add a sashing strip between the braids, but after studying this I realized that it needs something turquoise to break up all the purples. Luckily I have some on hand in the stash.
I've been alternating between cutting and sewing the quilt and working on another Lemondrop sketch for the 101 Fairy Lane site. She's very close to completion so it should be up later tonight. I like to "paint" her in photoshop. Maybe one day I'll experiment with painting her using goauche and watercolor paper.
