I forgot all about showing off the last ATD (Artist Trading Doll) that I made for a Halloween swap. I think that I bit off a bit more than I could chew when i decided to make this 50s inspired silhouette.
The base is cut out of the back of a drawing pad. I used it for the monotone brown ATD earlier this year so I didn't think it'd be a problem. However, this one had much more detail than the simple shape I choose last time. I just barely was able to cut it out with an X-acto blade and scissors. The clothes and face were cut from a variety of scrapbooking papers. The hair is a bit of dyed mohair. The shiny green thing is a frog sticker in her apron pocket (made from a polka dot vellum). And as you can see, I went a bit crazy with the black Art Institute glitter. It's now all over the dining room table. Like the comic Demetri Martin said, "Glitter is the herpes of craft supplies. [Once it's on you,] prepare to have it on you forever."
