We had a B-L-A-S-T this past weekend as a new little friend would phrase it. That's Steve in his new race car with his new numbers. Notice anything significant about them? Yes, he chose my birthday for them and signed me up as his racing sponsor. Too sweet! On Saturday my dad surprised us by showing up at the track for the practice sessions.
All went well for Steve's first race. He didn't finish last and more importantly he didn't spin his car. Well he did during the last lap of qualifying. That's okay. That's just what the announcers call agricultural driving. Fortunately this car is pretty tough and nothing was broken. We did pull a fairly substantial amount of grass and wildflowers out of the car before we wrapped up the car for the night.
I was still a bit sick so I bundled up while at the track but am feeling close to recovered now. In fact I spent two hours this morning attacking the weeds in the backyard. I didn't realize that I had developed a blister on my hand until after I took off my gardening gloves. Weeds still remain so I'll renew the attack later this week. It's also time to finish a few quilt projects, a doll for the Secret Pal swap at doll club and the wristlets for the giveaway.
