Whoo-hoo! I have finally finished one of my WIP dolls from Camp Doll U. Do you remember this one? It's called Lady Grace and was taught by Judy Skeel. I just needed to complete her hands and then assemble all the pieces.
Our doll club, Gals and Dolls, has a Secret Pal exchange where the
first doll is anonymously made for your partner at our December
meeting. Then at our April meeting we give a second doll and reveal our
identities. I originally wanted to make something else for my Secret
Pal but it just wasn't coming together the right way. As I was trying
to figure out what to do it dawned on me that I had quite a few WIPs
and that one of them may be a good one to do. Since this one ultimately
is destined to hang on a wall that would made it easier for my Secret Pal to
display in her home. Please disregard the poor photo shoot. I was almost out the door when I realized that I didn't have any photos of the completed doll. You know, I don't have too many pictures hanging on my walls yet for me to take down and use the nail so I made do with a long doll needle and a dining room chair instead.
A closeup of the face before I assembled the pieces. Her eyes aren't quite looking at you the right way. But they definitely are vibrant thanks to the addition of a gel pen accent per Judy Skeel's instructions.
