This past weekend was a whirlwind of activity - racing at Thunderhill in Willows, CA; a visit with our niece the Awesome Miss L from Kansas; trips to the Winchester Mystery Mansion, Santana Row, the mall, Carmel & Big Sur and finally the Monterey Aquarium. Wow! I'm exhausted!
First up is a photograph of the race car's new paint job. Isn't it spectacular?! We still have to get the white star stickers to put on the front side swoops but it's getting there. Yep, I'm married to Captain America. :-)
We were blessed with gorgeous weather on Thursday and Friday. It was a bit overcast and windy on Saturday and Sunday. Oh, and the hills are awash with wildflowers and green grass. Truly beautiful scenery.
Our niece, Miss L, flew in Friday night and watched Steve race. We took the long way home so that we could drive her over the Golden Gate bridge. Sadly the tops of the bridge weren't visible due to fog. Then on Monday I took her to see the Winchester Mystery Mansion in San Jose followed by lunch and window shopping at Santana Row.

Finally on Tuesday we took Miss L for a drive along Highway 1 at Carmel and Big Sur. We showed her Bixby Bridge (inspiration for the bridge scene in Cars and seen in many car commercials) and the gorgeous California coastline. Once again we were blessed with simply stunning weather. I'll never grow tired of looking at views like this:

The trip ended with a visit to Monterey's Cannery Row and the Monterey Aquarium. Miss L loves to take silly pictures for her friends. Here's one where she's "holding" a small jellyfish:

We had a great visit, or as Miss L is fond of saying, "It was awesome!"
