I've finished the quilt for the DQS10 swap hosted on flickr. It's making its way in the postal system and should be arriving at its new home very soon.
The back is like stained glass when you hold it up to the sun:

A few extras:
Isn't that fabric cute? It's called Hoot and I can't believe that I haven't noticed it before. The colors work perfectly against the quilt. And that large bird is from a design by UrbanThreads that I machine embroidered. I reduced the design a bit so that it would fit in my machine's hoop and it did okay. The bobbin thread tended to pick up when doing all that black stitching. Luckily it looks like a cute black/white detail so it works. I'm hoping that the recipient can use it to make a quilt, tote or something else.
The inspiration for this quilt came from Kellie of Don't Look Now (I even tried her style of free-motion quilting!) and this gorgeous photo that I found in google images here and more info on the quilt here.
