Okay, here's just a few more of quilts that caught my eye at this past weekend's 2011 Pacific International Quilt Fest (PIQF).
Super Star by Marilyn Badger - a traditional pieced beauty with absolutely stunning quilting which won a ribbon for Best Machine Workmanship in the Traditional category. Well won Marilyn! The rust border looks like a jacquard from far away but when you get close you see that all the detail has been created with lime green thread and intricate quilting.
Beauty of Life 2 by Julie Haddnck .. precision applique' and accented with just the right amount of beading, this won a ribbon for Best of Country, Australia.
Dance of the Butterflies by Deb Layt ... I love the greens and all the beautiful butterfly applique', not too mention such lovely quilting.
Rainforest - Hues of Hope by Ann Gillidette ... such soft greens, in person this quilt glows and is oh so beautiful.
Fern Pool by Gloria Loughman ... I can't tell you how much I love the colors in this quilt. It's so soothing. I'd love to see this in a room filled with soft white furniture and have this as the focus.
Siesta by Tanya Brown .. this is all threadwork and I just had to include it because this reminds me of Fearghus when he's curled up for a nap.
There were more pictures but these ones were the best ... some of the others were a bit blurred. As always I enjoyed walking around the show. Next time I should remember to wear my pedometer because I walked almost non-stop for a few hours. I hope that you're inspired to create some beauties yourself. I know that I have a few ideas now. Cheers!
