Last week, my Grandma Waltz (she liked to be called Catherine) left this world at the age of 92. I'll remember our creative summer trips to her house when I was a child and was taught how to sew and make all manners of crafty goodness. She introduced me to "farm" life with her chickens, cow, and big garden of fresh fruits, vegetables and grapes. Every year she would make strawberry jam and grape jelly. Extra strawberries were frozen for dessert in the winter. I of course never learned the fine art of cooking but I'll never forget how she filled the table with delicious foods and kept her home filled with her beautiful dolls and paintings. Godspeed!
