More Beaded Kumihimo Bracelets

They're done! The hard part is always to attach the findings to the beaded kumihimo bracelets. This time I found some filigree end caps and pretty toggle clasps in an antique gold finish and a silver finish.

And I found the perfect miniature paint bucket containers at Michaels to put them in. Since they were color coordinated I didn't have to figure out a name tag. My friends and I have been giving each other gifts in certain colors for a few years now. It seems funny but then again everyone tends to wear these colors so it all works out well.

Kumihimo Beaded Bracelets

Lately I've been working on making more beaded kumihimo bracelets. The easy part is to make the braid but now I need to work on attaching findings to them. The first one that I made had a really cool magnetic end cap that I just had to glue the braid into. This time I'm going to try some wire work to attach some pretty bead caps and toggles. Hopefully they'll work out fine. I love how the beads sparkle and catch the light. (The green one is my practice piece that has a few mishaps with it. Eventually I'll break it back down to use the beads on a better one.)

Beaded Kumihimo

The other day I finally pulled out my size 8 seed beads and the C-lon cord so that I could try my hand at a beaded kumihimo braid. After an initial rough start - when I pulled it all apart so that I could begin again - I found myself with almost 8" of beaded braid. I just need to get some endings in the correct size so that I can finish it off as a bracelet. Fun! This was such a great break from all other projects and it turned out to be fairly quick and easy.

 

It's subtle but there are two different spirals - one from a more matte purple bead and the second spiral from two alternating shiny beads, one more pinkish than the other. It gives some nice sparkle to it.
